Instead of using traditional forms of selling and an agent Edenview employed DC to market their apartments to the larger worldwide market.

Because of the current economic climate and how sales are going for new apartment complexes, the team behind the new Edenview Apartments came to Digital Cartel to try a fresh approach. Instead of using traditional forms of selling and an agent Edenview employed DC to market their apartments to the larger worldwide market.

Edenview Email Marketing

After building a unique website for the complex to wipe out competition and choice on traditional real estate websites for the potential buyers; Digital Cartel then instigated a marketing campaign directly to people viewing the unique website. The results have been outstanding to date. This was purely a numbers game; the more people we target the more people that will view what our clients are selling!

HIT ‘n’ RUN being a cutting edge retail chain selling labels such as Emily the Strange, OG Abel, Osiris and TapOut to name a few needed to use a medium to talk with their customers that is cutting edge and fits in with their genre.

HIT’ n’ RUN approached Digital Cartel to use both an email marketing campaign and social media campaign to let their customers know of new stock arriving, sales in store and ultimately their warehouse sale. Researching their demographic DC found that it was best to get in front of the trend setters in their demographic and then use referral marketing to get their message across. This worked phenomenally well with all sales selling out in just a matter of hours…

After building all the collateral such as website, SEO and email templates DC implemented a 5 prong email marketing campaign to target potential affiliates. Letting technology do the work DC were able to see who was reading what email and then can tailor the marketing campaign to that person. This made the first campaign quite successful and thus DC have been employed to continue the project indefinitely.

Digital Cartel implemented new collateral including a website that fits in with today’s technology so potential customers can now book a Cobalt Cottage across all reservation sites throughout the world as well as on their own site. The idea and concept was to make it easy to find and book. To compliment the website Digital Cartel also designed and developed an online marketing campaign and traditional marketing campaign (including fliers around the town) that has now built Cobalt Cottages as the best branded and marketed accommodation destination in Broken Hill.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (or IE6 for short), was released in 2001. This is about halfway between the birth of the web, and the current day.

IE7 was released in 2006, and IE8 was released in 2009. Both newer versions contain numerous security, standards and performance upgrades. Microsoft made IE8 a critical update as of May 2009. This means it has been over 3 years since Microsoft officially stopped all support for IE6. The user base for IE6 is in decline and according to many reports is below 5%.

As web developers, we’ve had to support IE6 for years due to it’s large market share. Since this is finally down to a minority, and since it has been 3 years since Microsoft has stopped supporting their own product, Digital Cartel too has decided to discontinue support for IE6 as part of our Cross-Browser-Compatibility testing. Other major websites such as Google, YouTube, and Facebook are all officially dropping support for IE6 in the very near future. All previous versions of IE are insecure and pose a security risk to users running them. We cannot encourage the use of dangerous software online.

Obviously, we are still dedicated to the best for our client’s sites, and neglecting 10% of potential customers are often not a viable solution. If a client requires IE6 support we can offer it on a case-by-case basis. We typically offer two solutions for IE6 support.

This first option is free. We will redirect IE6 users to a page which explains their browser needs an additional plug-in to view the website. This installs Google Chrome Frame. This is an Internet Explorer plug-in, which allows some websites (which explicitly request it) to be rendered using Google Chrome’s engine. This installation page will be consistent with the style and layout of your existing website, and will be extremely user-friendly. The Google Chrome Frame installation usually only takes a few seconds (and one or two clicks), after which the website will display perfectly in IE6.

The second option is we can spend time creating manual fixes and “hacks” to correct the site for viewing in IE6. This is charged at our standard hourly rate. It is important to note that even with these fixes, IE6 will remain unsafe and is sometimes simply incapable of delivering “modern” content – such as highly dynamic menus, animations, etc. We aim for a “functional” version of the site in IE6, but often a highly attractive version is simply not possible.

Due to the rapid decline of IE6 we do not recommend this second option as a cost effective solution. The new computer operating system Windows 7 comes bundled with IE8, which means hopefully it will only be a matter of months before IE6′s market share has reached a negligible amount. Most statistics websites show IE8 out ranks IE6 as a percentage so the tidal shift has already mostly occurred.

To provide cost effective solutions to the majority of our clients we cannot support IE6 by default. Thanks for your understanding. We value your business, and are always happy to discuss.

Using a commonsense formula we market relevant information to relevant prospects around the world.

Currently there are over 3 billion people on the Internet worldwide. We bring online marketing back to what people will view and read. Being in business for so many years we have managed to build a significant database in the millions; that’s not to say that everyone will be interested in buying property but if we can get your product in front of so many people then the odds of selling your property should increase exponentially.

Real estate websites are full of everyone else’s properties and relies on potential buyers “scrolling through and finding” a property.

Marketing your property through Digital Cartel puts your property in front of the buyer on a one-on-one basis.
